Steiner education provides a complete education, balancing and developing the whole person authentically. In Year 12 we provide many opportunities for our students to build leadership and teamwork skills, one of them being learning how to surf. Samford and Noosa Pengari Year 12 students had the chance to meet together recently for several days, learning from surf instructors all the intricacies of surfing from water safety,  how to read the ocean, how to stand on a board and then having a go at surfing. For many students, this was their first time surfing.  As one student said, “It was wonderful seeing every student stand up on a wave, with most never having surfed before, the sense of pride was palpable”. The two classes also competed in a beach Olympics style event, working together, running, swimming and participating in various beach sports.
