Samford Valley Steiner School

Parent Engagement Project

We are very pleased to let you know that our school has been selected as one of six Queensland independent schools to take part in a ground-breaking research project investigating parent engagement in schools.

The project is called Engaging Parents in Inquiry Curriculum or “EPIC”.

EPIC is being led by two of Australia’s leading parent engagement experts, Dr Linda Willis and Professor Beryl Exley from Griffith University and is funded by Independent Schools Queensland and the Queensland Independent Schools Parents Network, in partnership with Griffith University.

The project provides the six schools taking part with a unique opportunity to have their parent engagement practices evaluated and nurtured.

Dr Willis and Professor Exley have already been working closely with our School Director, Tracey Taylor and will be conducting professional learning days with some of our teaching team in late May. We look forward to bringing you more information about the project in the coming months.
