Class 8 Bike Camp

“For our Class 8 Bike Camp, we travelled to Benarkin to ride the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. The first day we travelled 37km to a small school called Harlin State School.

When we woke up the next morning, we packed our bags and we rode 200m down the road to a park and we had breakfast there. 5 minutes later it started to rain and then we heard thunder and lightning, we had to wait for ages for the rain to clear. All our stuff was wet and we were cold, after that we rode about 30 km to a campsite at the Esk Caravan Park, where we stayed for the night.

The next day was a lot better because the storm passed and everything was dry and warm. We then rode to Lowood where we camped for the last night.

Our last day of riding was to a train station (Wulkaraka). The class caught a train to Ferny Grove. We then rode from Ferny Grove back to school.”
